The Novox Research X-SD replaces a standard AR9 barrel with a 4.3″ ported barrel and integrated shroud system designed around SD-style suppressed operation. Gas is vented through the barrel ports before the projectile exits, reducing velocity while the included Alpha and HUB modules allow the system to accept a broad range of compatible 9mm suppressors. Its modular mounting system avoids locking the build into a single suppressor thread standard.
Note: Suppressor is not included. The barrel-to-taper-adapter threads are proprietary and are not M18. Verify barrel nut and handguard clearance before installation; Novox specifies a maximum barrel-nut length of 2.24″ and an assembled outside diameter up to 1.27″ with the Alpha module or 1.5″ with the HUB module. This 4.3″ barrel may create an NFA-regulated short-barreled rifle when installed in certain stocked firearm configurations.
