Mounting the ARO-MINI

The ARO-MINI uses the RMS/RMSc optic footprint, which is compatible with a wide variety of optics ready concealed carry pistols. These typically have thinner grips and slides than most duty pistols.

For the Glock 43X/48 MOS, S&W Shield Optics Ready, Sig P365 Optics Ready, and Springfield Hellcat Optics Ready models, we include the correct mounting screws in the box.

If your pistol is not optics-ready, we recommend getting an optics-ready slide or using an adapter plate like the C&H Adapter Plate for maximum compatibility.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I mount the ARO-MINI to my pistol?
A: Most Optics-Ready pistols meant for concealed carry will have an RMS/RMSc footprint for mounting optics. We include the correct screws for optics ready Glock 43x/48 Pistols, Smith & Wesson Shield, Sig Sauer P365, and Springfield Hellcat. If your pistol is not optics ready, we recommend getting an optics-ready slide for your pistol, or using an adapter plate from EGW to replace your rear sight.

Q: What is the recommended torque for the top screws that thread into the mount?  Do I need Loctite/threadlocker?
A: We recommend no more than 12 inch-lbs for torque on the two top screws, no matter what you’re mounting the ARO to.  You do not necessarily need threadlocker, but it is highly recommended, especially on handguns.  We include screws with threadlocker already applied with your ARO-MINI.

Q: Do I need to use iron sights along with the ARO-MINI Red Dot Sight?
A: NO – Iron sights are not required to use this red dot sight! The red dot sight can be used on its own. Many people choose to use iron sights as a backup, but they are optional. This red dot will allow for a cowitness on some pistols with their standard iron sights, so you likely won’t need to replace them either.

Q: I’ve installed the ARO-MINI correctly, but my elevation is off and I have no more adjustment. How can I fix it?
A:  We include a small 1 degree shim with the ARO-MINI for this purpose. This provides the red dot with more elevation adjustment, increasing the adjustment range you’ll need. The shim is reversible, so you whether your point of impact is too high or low, you can still adjust to where you need.
