A Reliable Magazine to Feed Your .450 Bushmaster “Thumper”

The .450 Bushmaster is a popular hunting cartridge, but a good magazine can be hard to come by. With the straight-wall design, supporting each round for reliable feeding can be a challenge. Luckily, ASC has it all figured out with this 5-round magazine for your “Thumper” AR-15. Featuring supporting ribs to keep cartridges in place, and preventing malfunctions, this magazine is a great choice to feed your big-bore hunting rifle.

Designed to Prevent Double-Feeds

While originally intended to fit a standard AR15 magazine, improper geometry and follower design can lead feeding issues and rifle malfunctions for .450 Bushmaster. By creating a proprietary internal bracing system and laser-welding it into a 410 stainless-steel body, this magazine prevents rounds from getting misaligned and prevents double-feeds.

The enhanced system of this AR-15 magazine also ensures reliability over thousands of rounds, not just the first shots at the range.

They look good,fit good but not one of the 5 shells fed. After examining the feed lips I felt a sharp edge. I grabbed my trusty dremmel tool, inserted a 1/4" polishing bob and some green roose. I polished the underside of each lip till it was smooth. Loaded the same 5 shells and hit the bolt release and BAM. All 5 shells fed perfectly. Better quality control would have caught sharp edges. Simple fix for an old machinist like me.

Not good quality for price. Way too expensive. Couldn’t even find 9 round mags.

Fits my Bear Creek Arsenal rifle just fine fires fine no issues great price

The quality of the Mags are Great. I bought some of the 5 rd and 7rd Mags for the 450 BM. I've run about 20 rds through them and no feeding issues so far with the Hornady XTP or the Speer Hollowpoint

Mags hold 5 rounds. Drop free easily from the rifle. Has the notch cut in the front to ease feeding. Feed lips were super sharp, with a burr on the underside against the brass. I had to polish them to allow smooth feeding. One magazine I had to adjust the feed lip opening to enable first round feeds. Now working perfectly.

Magazine functions as designed. The only problem is the metal cuts your brass as it is loaded into the firearm. A few minutes with a file greatly reduces the damage but it is still there.

Ordered two magazines, Both work flawless.
